An 8-year-old girl named Bahati lives in a small village in Sudan with her mother Akifa and three siblings. Life has been challenging for her ever since her father succumbed to Malaria, leaving her mother Akifa to care for Bahati and her three siblings all alone. Akifa was determined that despite their hardships, and though food was scarce, her children would stay healthy and hopeful.

One day, while Bahati was walking home from school with an empty stomach, a glimmer of hope appeared on the horizon. Our nonprofit organization, Empowering Everyday Women (EEW), with the support of amazing partners and donors, had come to the village to provide relief aid for struggling families like Bahati's. With our help, Bahati and her family received vital food supplies which saved them from hunger and despair.

"I've spent countless nights worrying about how to feed my children," said Akifa, emotional as she held a basket full of nutritious food provided by EEW. "This wonderful organization has brought happiness back into our lives. For the first time in years, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel."

Filled with gratitude for this life-changing kindness, Bahati's heart has swelled with hope. The EEW team members taught her mother how to make the most of what the resources provided and plan better for their future needs.
