What Is a FirstFruits Offering?

FirstFruits is the practice of giving God the first portion of what comes in, before anything else is spent.

It comes from the harvest. In Scripture, farmers carried the first of the crop to God before they knew how the rest of the season would turn out. The offering was made while the outcome was still uncertain. That is what made it an act of trust.

Most of us do not bring grain anymore. Today people set apart the first portion of a paycheck, a bonus, a tax return, or the first earnings of a new year, and they give it before the rest gets budgeted.

FirstFruits is settled between you and God. Ask Him what to give, and then give that.

At the beginning of the year, or the beginning of whatever season you are walking into.
