Holy Week Devotion: Stay With Him

Holy Week is not just a series of events. It is an invitation.

An invitation to walk with Jesus through the most sacred, sobering, and transformative moments in history.

From the cheers of Palm Sunday, to the quiet tension of the upper room, to the agony of the cross, and finally, to the victory of the empty tomb.

This week asks something of us.

It asks us not to rush.

It asks us to stay.

Too often, we skip ahead to the celebration of Resurrection Sunday without sitting in the weight of what came before it. But if we don’t pause, we miss the depth of His love.

Palm Sunday reminds us that the same crowd that cried “Hosanna” would later cry “Crucify Him.” Human praise is fickle. But Jesus remained steady.

Maundy Thursday shows us a Savior who knelt low, washing the feet of those who would soon abandon Him. Love that serves, even when it knows betrayal is coming.

Good Friday confronts us with the cross. The suffering. The sacrifice. The unbearable cost of sin laid on a sinless Savior.

And in that moment, everything looks lost.

Hope appears buried.
Promises seem broken.
Heaven feels silent.

But Heaven was not silent. Heaven was working.

Because Holy Week does not end at the cross.

It leads to resurrection.

It leads to life.

It leads to victory.

This week, don’t rush past the process.

Sit with Him in the tension.
Reflect on the sacrifice.
Let the weight of His love settle deeply in your heart.

Because when you understand what it cost, resurrection will mean so much more.

And maybe that’s where some of us are right now.

In between promise and fulfillment.
In between pain and victory.
In between Friday and Sunday.

If that’s you, take heart.

God is still working, even when it feels quiet.
What looks like an ending may just be the beginning of something greater.

Stay with Him.

Sunday is coming.

Now let us pray

Lord, as we walk through this Holy Week, help us to slow down and truly reflect on what Jesus endured for us. Let us not rush past the cross, but sit in the weight of Your love and sacrifice. Strengthen our faith in the waiting, and remind us that even when things seem silent, You are still at work. Thank You for the promise of resurrection and new life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
